My research focuses on the hippocampus and its role in long-term memory and navigation, specifically in humans. I will be sharing data from two separate, but related projects: 1) an investigation into the neural correlates of distance tracking in the hippocampus during navigation of both recently learned and highly familiar environments (fMRI), and 2) how the brain separates out useful vs non-useful paths during maze navigation (fMRI/MEG). I will relate these findings to systems consolidation theories and planning/attention processes, respectively.
